An evergreen checklist to inventory domains, fix expiry risk, label purpose, and project renewal cost — reusable every quarter.

Last reviewed: 11 August 2026

Use this checklist as a repeatable operating procedure. It is intentionally tool-agnostic — DomainsBoard simply makes the steps faster.

Inventory

  • Every domain you own appears in one list
  • Registrar / connection label is set
  • Expiry date is present and believable
  • Renewal cost + currency filled for keepers
  • Auto-renew status recorded

Risk

  • Reminders enabled (60 / 30 / 7 / 1 or your variant)
  • Production domains have auto-renew on or a named owner watching them
  • “Auto-renew off” list reviewed
  • No unknown domains in corporate email signatures

Organization

  • Labels applied (client / investment / personal / parked / project)
  • Notes capture non-obvious context
  • Client domains separable from personal experiments

Money

  • 90-day renewal projection reviewed
  • 12-month burn acceptable
  • Drop candidates listed with reasons

Cadence

  • Weekly: 30-day expiry skim
  • Monthly: cost projection check
  • Quarterly: full audit

When the checklist feels heavier than the portfolio, you have outgrown manual upkeep — see portfolio management.
